KOALA BOOKS publishes children’s books suitable for 0-9. We publish children’s picture books and novelty lift-the-flap books.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS: All manuscripts will be read, provided a SSAE (stamped, self-addressed envelope large enough for return of the manuscript) is included. Manuscripts should be typed and double-spaced and while illustrations may be submitted, emphasis is on the text in the first instance.

Submissions in hard copy by post only. No email submissions. No multiple submissions. No email or telephone enquires — we assess on writing style not ideas. Please allow approximately 3 months for assessment.

ILLUSTRATION SUBMISSIONS: Koala Books is always looking for experienced illustrators, especially for children’s picture books. Please take a look at our website to get an idea of the illustrative styles we prefer. All submissions will be assessed for suitability and ONLY successful applicants will be contacted. Do not send in original art or portfolios that need to be returned. Do not contact the designer directly and do not send manuscripts to the Designer. Submissions in hard copy by post only.

The term “illustrator” means someone who a professional — who has already had illustrations published, or with formal training, and has a strongly developed illustrative style and technique, appropriate for children’s picture books.
